Revisit what you know about traditional techniques to create still-lifes from destroyed domestic objects.
This class offers an introduction to drawing or an opportunity to reimagine and expand your practice, leading to radically different creative outcomes. For generations, artists have used objects to explore representations of the self by infusing even the most ordinary items with deeper meaning. Feminist artists, in particular, have politicised subjecthood through the use of symbolic objects making statements about identity, agency and societal roles.
All abilities welcome – no previous art experience necessary!
This is the first of three evening classes inspired by our current exhibition Barbara Steveni: I Find Myself. Tickets are sold per session to keep things flexible, but we encourage you to attend all three if you can.
