Drawing inspiration from the playful and radical ideas of Dada and Fluxus artists, as well as the ‘assemblage’ work of Barbara Steveni, we’ll experiment with futuristic imagery and ideas while exploring traditional printmaking techniques. You’ll create your own etching, by incising lines in a plastic plate, which will be used to print your final image.
No artistic experience necessary. Bring your curiosity and a willingness to play, invent, and wonder. This is the second of three evening classes inspired by our current exhibition Barbara Steveni: I Find Myself. Where Steveni declared, “I am an archive”, to reclaim the documentation of her life’s work, we propose: “I am an apparatus”. Tickets are sold per session to keep things flexible, but we encourage you to attend all three if you can!
