City as Studio: How to make your own Stop-Motion Video

Discover how to make your own stop motion animations at home!

In this fun and easy how-to video, our City as Studio lead artist Kate Mahoney takes you through the process of making a stop motion animation on your mobile phone.

Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are photographed in slightly differing positions over a series of frames, so that when played back quickly they will appear to be moving or changing.

City as Studio works with local Oxford schools and colleges to offer professional development opportunities for young people aged 16-21. It is an artist-led project for students from Oxford Spires Academy, Cheney School and City of Oxford College. The students work in groups to produce original short art films in response to a curatorial brief.
