Get creative at our free drop-in holiday workshop for all ages, inspired by Kira Freije’s exhibition Unspeak the Chorus.

What To Expect

This workshop will run as a flexible drop-in session between 11am–1pm and 2–4pm, where you can explore sculpture-making techniques at your own pace using metal wire, fabric and light.

Taking inspiration from the way Kira Freije creates her work, you’ll experiment with bending wire to draw in space, adding fabric to create texture and shape, and using lighting to cast dramatic shadows. Create your own character, creature or scene while discovering how artists turn ideas into finished artworks.

Kira’s exhibition is filled with life-size figures made from twisted metal, layered fabric and carefully placed light. This workshop offers a hands-on opportunity to explore some of the materials and processes behind the exhibition in a relaxed, creative environment.
