Oxford Folk Festival: Three Idle Women, Gordon Mackay and Mandy Woods
Ahead of the Oxford Folk Festival join us for an evening music from local performers and songwriters. Throughout the evening we’ll be serving delicious food and drink from our basement Café and bar, and our galleries will remain open for you to view our current exhibition, Barbara Steveni: I Find Myself.
Schedule
Mandy Woods – 6pm
Originally from Kidlington, Mandy is an established musician whose work is informed by her wide travels and interesting experiences. Having spent a decade of her professional life in the Southern United States, her songs are steeped in the country tradition; her lyrics are thought provoking and precisely observed.
Gordon Mackay – 6:45pm
Gordon is a solo performer who appears regularly at venues and festivals across Oxfordshire playing upbeat americana and country music. His voice has been described as ‘a warm hug’.
Three Idle Women – 7:40pm
Three Idle Women are gifted musicians and singer-songwriters who celebrate life on the waterways of Oxfordshire and beyond. They were forged by a shared love of the Oxford Canal and a fondness for close harmony singing.
