This event has now sold out
SONCITIES STUDIO joins forces with EMPRES and Modern Art Oxford for a night of performances and conversations exploring the boundaries between music, art, and technology.
Expect compositions, installations and performances exploring spatial audio, sonic urbanism, and sonic architecture.
Discover new works by Matilde Meireles, Gerard Gormley aka being strangers, Jonathan Packham, Merijn Royaards, and work by students from the Faculty of Music and Ruskin School of Art curated by Melissa Chang.
There will also be a conversation with sound artist and TORCH Visiting Fellow Shiva Feshareki, and a book launch for Stereophonica: Sound and Space in Science, Technology, and the Arts (2021) by Gascia Ouzounian.
The book will be for sale in the Modern Art Oxford Shop, which will be open especially until 8pm.
The evening will conclude with a live audiovisual performance, Rewiring Brutaliam, by art duo Photolanguage and musique concrète collective Langham Research Centre. This edition of Rewiring Brutalism will incorporate new site locations and brutalist architecture from around Oxford city centre.
This event is curated by Dan Hulme (EMPRES) and Ruth Bernatek (SONCITIES)
