Creative Conversations. Future Play Spaces

Join artist Harold Offeh for this making and drawing session that is celebration plays paces.

Visitors are invited to propose a future play space or sculpture for Oxford. This could take the form a
building, a playground or sculpture.
You are invited to create a play space for Oxford. What do you want to see built? What would it look like? How would people use it? What would the experience be like? Where would your play space be located?

Visitors can draw, collage or create a model of their plans and ideas. Recycled materials will be available if you want to make a model of their play space or building. The session will be staged around Harold Offeh’s Pavilion, designed to host conversation, learning and play. The session will see an evolving display of future play spaces for Oxford.

Harold Offeh’s Pavilion is inspired by the work of Brazilian modernist architect, Lina Bo Bardi, who championed the social and cultural importance of architecture and design. Bo Bardi was invested in the relationship between public space and play. She proposed a sculpture play park to accompany the Museum of Modern Art in Sao Paulo, Brazil that she also designed. The session will have lots of images of imagined play spaces to give inspiration.
