Emma Hart: Club Together

As part of Modern Art Oxford’s ground floor redevelopment, we have invited acclaimed British artist Emma Hart to create a unique destination café, which will sit in our lower ground floor.

The café will be based on a celebratory concept called Club Together, which is inspired by raves and other spaces where people come together for enjoyment and self-expression. Hart’s furniture in the café is inspired by dancing “hands in the air” which morph into seating, and tables that evoke disco lights throwing pools of coloured light onto the floor.

Here, the artist has created a film which explores some of the inspirations behind the café and shares images of the prototype furniture and the imaginings of how the final space will look.
