Call for Participants
As part of our current exhibition TEST RUN: Performance in Public Modern Art Oxford are working with artist Jérôme Leuba on a new public performance in the streets of Oxford city centre.
Performance
Across two days, participants will engage in a durational public performance entitled battlefield #95 / gaze. The performance will involve participants meeting the gaze of passers by while maintaining a fixed position in the streets of Oxford city centre for the duration of the performance.
Prior to the performance, participants will be fully briefed by the artist and gallery staff. The performance itself will be fully supervised throughout.
Artist
Jérôme Leuba, born in 1970 in Geneva, is a Swiss artist who lives and works between Geneva and Berlin. He has exhibited widely in museums, galleries and art fairs worldwide.
Details
- We are looking for up to six people per day aged 18+ to take part in the performance.
- Everyone welcome, no previous experience required. Participants must be physically fit and able to stand outside for three hours.
- Participants must be able to commit to three hours a day 12-3pm, across two days.
- Participates will also need to be available to meet with the artist between 11-12noon, 27th March 2015.
Dates: Saturday 4 April / Sunday 5 April 2015
Travel expenses and lunch costs will be reimbursed up to £15 per day.
