EMPRES: The Art of Noises VII
Oxford University’s EMPRES Collective and Modern Art Oxford join forces for a night of performances exploring the boundaries between music, art and technology, devised in response to Jesse Darling’s exhibition No Medals No Ribbons.
Composers and sound artists will come together to perform and interact with Jesse Darling’s Gravity Road (2020), a large steel sculpture that will be installed in our galleries as part of Jesse Darling’s solo exhibition: No Medals No Ribbons.
In collaboration with The University of Oxford’s Electronic Music Practice RESearch group (EMPRES), we have invited composers and sound artists to propose a performance that responds to Jesse Darling’s practice. Works will be created over a series of sessions, in which the artists will interact with, explore, agitate and record Gravity Road, creating new works for this live performance on 29 April.
