Interested in exploring your creative potential? Want to find out more about a career in the arts and meet other young creatives?

Join our free Thursday evening City as Studio sessions to meet young people in the city, work with professional artists, and develop your creativity.

The sessions will take place on Thursday evenings from 4-6pm, from 10 March to 7 April.

City as Studio is Modern Art Oxford’s artist led project for young people. Across the sessions, you’ll work with artists in the city, learn how to build a professional portfolio, and develop your artistic voice working collaboratively with other young artists in Oxfordshire.

What to expect during the weekly sessions:

10 & 17 March – Studio Sessions. Develop your artistic practice with creative workshops exploring self portraiture and interpretation.

24 March – Film screening. Join us for a rare screening of A Prayer Before Birth (1991) by feminist filmmaker Jacqui Duckworth, a drama which chronicles the director’s own experience of coming to terms with multiple sclerosis.

31 March – Meet the Modern Art Oxford team. Find out more about working in the arts and the different education and career paths of the Modern Art Oxford team.

7 April – Studio Session: Portfolio building. Learn how to build a professional portfolio and communicate your practice confidently.
