Adapt Transform Late

Join us to celebrate the opening of Adapt Transform, an exciting new exhibition of works by Oxfordshire artists and creatives, exploring urban design and creativity.

With the galleries open until 9.30pm, refreshments available from the Café, and the Shop open all evening, this is a great chance to explore the exhibition and celebrate creativity in Oxfordshire. Throughout the evening, enjoy demonstrations and discussions by the Atkins Urban Nature Lab team, and a performance by artist Alexander Stavrou, whose works are on display in the exhibition. Find out more below. There will also be live music from Oxford-based Octavia Freud.

Free entry all evening, no booking necessary.

Atkins Urban Nature Lab is a diverse group of environmental scientists, engineers and consultants working in Oxford City Centre on projects to plan, design and deliver nature-based solutions that might help combat change, population growth and urban expansion. Their Lego model of Oxford, on display as part of the exhibition, provides a great excuse to play together, giving us the opportunity to think about new ways of protecting Oxford.

Alexander Stavrou will perform Fragment Interface, responding to the design and architecture of the gallery space, by negotiating with the exposed surface of a fragment of a discarded piano.

We offer a range of facilities to ensure we are accessible to visitors. Please click here to find out more about visiting Modern Art Oxford. If you have any questions about your visit, please get in touch at [email protected].

Adapt Transform explores community experiences of urban design that impact the transformation of places over time. It brings together a range of lived experiences to explore how the planning and design of cities effects the way we live. Click here to find out more.

The exhibition is on display across two sites – Modern Art Oxford and The Glass Tank Gallery at Oxford Brookes University.
