A Slice through the World: Contemporary Artists' Drawings

Product information
This catalogue was produced to accompany the 2018 exhibition A Slice through the World: Contemporary Artists’ Drawings which was held across two venues: Modern Art Oxford (16 June – 9 September) and Drawing Room, London (13 June – 5 August).
The exhibition explored the ancient technology of drawing as it meets the newest form of digitised image culture. The artworks under consideration in the book signal the resilience of drawing as a means of exploring and responding to contemporary questions of dialogue and representation, reinforcing its status as an inherently interdisciplinary medium that remains central to artistic practice across the world.
The publication is fully illustrated with images of all the works shown across the two venues. It contains essays by the two curators of the exhibition, Modern Art Oxford’s Curator of Exhibition and Projects Stephanie Straine, and Drawing Room’s Co-Director Kate Macfarlane.
