Commission Call-Out: LGBTQIA+ Artists

06 March 2024

We are looking for early career artists who identify as part of Oxford’s LGBTQIA+ community to create a new piece of work in response to our upcoming exhibition Frieda Toranzo Jaeger: A future in the light of darkness. This is a paid commission opportunity for artists aged 18 or over, and we’d love to hear from as many people as possible.

About the Commission

This commission could take the form of a piece of writing, an illustration, a piece of music, or a video. Whatever format it takes, it should be suitable for digital publication on the Modern Art Oxford website

The final commissioned piece should be a personal response to, or reflection on the exhibition of Frieda Toranzo Jaeger’s works. You can find out more about this exhibition on the event page. The exhibition itself will open on Saturday 16 March.

We are offering a flat fee of £250 for the creation of this new piece of work. The final commissioned piece will be published in June, 2024.
