LGBTQ+ History Month 2022: The Arc is Long but it Bends Towards Justice

It’s LGBTQ+ History Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ The theme this year, ‘The Arc is Long’ draws from a quotation by Martin Luther King JR.: “We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice.”

Looking at the continuing journey towards equality, which has suffered many setbacks while still moving forward, reminds us how important histories are in the fight for equal futures. ⏩ So this month we’re looking back on some of our blog posts, takeovers and archival projects from the past year that highlight the stories of LGBTQ+ people throughout history, and celebrate the people working to tell them, as part of the fight for real equality.

From the 19th century Zuni Pueblos, to north London in the 70s and 80s, and the city of Oxford today, discover inspiring stories, remarkable young activists like Trans Happiness is Real, and national education campaigns to inspire you this month, and all year round 🌈
