From Brooklyn: Johanna Unzueta’s Art Diary Part 2

From her home studio in Brooklyn, New York, Johanna Unzueta has created a series of short films giving personal insights into her exhibition Tools for Life at Modern Art Oxford.

Part two of Johanna’s introduction to her felt sculptures features some of the found objects given new life through Johanna’s work. Wooden spools sourced from old textiles factories, flea markets and second hand shops add movement to these tactile chain sculptures.

Filmed in her art-filled home studio, Johanna shares the process of making her recognisable chain sculptures. You may spot that the sculpture is an early prototype for larger felt works, some of which feature in her exhibition, Tools for Life.
