VIP Preview 19 January

London Art Fair is the UK’s premier Modern British and contemporary art Fair. Following a hugely successful 27th edition, the Fair returns to the Business Design Centre in Islington from 20-24 January 2016, welcoming 126 galleries presenting the very best Modern British and contemporary art.

Situated within a Modern British pavilion at the front the Fair, the Fair’s 2016 museum partner, Jerwood gallery, presents a unique exhibition curated from the Jerwood Collection, one of the most important collections of 20th and 21st century British art on public display in the UK. Entitled Coast, the display also includes highlights of the gallery’s 2016 exhibition programme.

The Fair sees the return of Art Projects presenting the freshest contemporary art from across the globe, showcasing large scale installations, solo shows and curated group displays. Dialogues is a guest curated section within Art Projects featuring collaborative presentations between invited UK and international galleries, curated by Natasha Hoare for 2016.

Photo50 provides a critical showcase of some of the most interesting and distinctive elements of current photographic practice and we welcome Federica Chiocchetti as curator of the exhibition for 2016. Federica is a Tuscan, London-based photography critic, editor and curator, her exhibition Feminine Masculine, loosely inspired by Jean-Luc Godard’s 1966 masterpiece Masculin Féminin, aims to explore the everyday struggle and fascination of dealing with the other sex.
