Over the summer we will be installing a new state-of-the-art lift at Modern Art Oxford that will offer our visitors greater and easier access to the galleries and the basement.
This essential maintenance work began in the summer and is expected to last for a period of approximately 10 – 12 weeks.
We regret that during this time the galleries (including our current exhibition) and the basement (including our disabled toilet) will only be accessible via stairs. The café and shop will remain fully accessible.
We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or disruption this causes. We want our visitors to have the best possible experience at Modern Art Oxford, and the new lift will significantly improve and enhance the experience of the gallery for disabled visitors in the long term.
Work is due to be complete by mid November, but updates on the progress and exact completion date will be published on our website and social media.

Penny Woolcock: Fantastic Cities 17 November 2018 -10 February 2019
Fantastic Cities is the first major exhibition showcasing the thought-provoking work of artist Penny Woolcock (b. 1950 Buenos Aires). An unparalleled pioneer in contemporary visual culture in the UK, Woolcock is widely celebrated for her creatively incisive approach to exploring issues of social inequality. This exhibition presents three new commissions, alongside work spanning four decades of Woolcock’s prolific creative practice.
Toilets
Additional toilets with disabled facilities will be available in the Yard entrance of Modern Art Oxford, in The Blenheim pub on the corner of Pembroke Street and St Ebbes (approx. 100 yards), or in the Westgate Centre (approx. 0.3 miles).
